I didn’t even know this girl I went to Uni with had a boyfriend and then I see on facebook she got married. She’s younger than me. Not sure I could have gotten married so young but all the best for her.
My parents knew each other before uni, started dating at uni and married at 21 in the summer they graduated (also the summer they both turned 21).
They both say that nowadays they wouldn’t have, that the culture of the time meant to live together, get a house together etc. they needed to get married. They had children younger (younger than, me, their youngest child) because that was the done thing.
They think getting married that young now is generally not advisable and they while they love their three children dearly, if they’d known then what they know now they’d have had children later.
(Just sharing this story so people can hear some advice from a couple who have been there and done that)
